General Relativity and Gravitation

We study aspects of classical General Relativity such as center of mass and spin dynamics, non-local variables, wave propagation on curved spacetimes, linear stability of black holes and naked singularities, inequalities involving the black hole mass, charge and angular momentum, and initial conditions for Einstein equations in astrophysical systems; also quantum aspects such as observables in quantum gravity, physical degrees of freedom in phase space, string theory corrections to Einstein’s equations. We also study hyperbolic and parabolic partial differential equations with applications to Physics, and numerical methods applied to spacetime evolution in bounded domains
